So my sister and I attempted a 24 hour marathon of the Potter series this weekend. We failed. Miserably. I was fast asleep within the first half hour of the Chamber of Secrets, and we didn't even finish it the next day! We skipped straight to the third movie (the best one, aha) but I ended up going out to the cinema two thirds of the way in.
This is our second attempt at a harry potter marathon.
So basically, the moral of the story is, never give up on your dreams. Haha.

Bookmark Woes
I love bookmarks. I think they do their job immensely and still look pretty when doing it. However, I can never seem to look after them properly. I always end up tearing a small piece of paper from near by and using that to mark my place instead of an actual bookmark. I'm often reduced to dog-earing. Yes, I dog-ear my pages. Only a tiny bit though, I could never fold down half a page. I'd rather hunt through my book and re-read the whole thing than create massive creases on my pages.
Do you dog ear your pages? Or do you always use a bookmark?

Escaping Reading Slumps
For the past three months I have read a total of one book.
ONE.
Yes, I feel ashamed that my year began on a -really- rough note, but no matter how hard I tried, I could not get into a book. The one book that I did read however, was reasonably long (The Host by Stephanie Meyer) which I believe sucked all the enthusiasm of reading out of me like a vacuum. Every book I began, my attempts ended in failure. So I did what every agitated book lover would do and read a few chapters of Harry Potter.
Oh and I started a book blog ;)

Chapter One: The Girl Who Read
Hi there! Pull up a blanket and fetch yourself a cup of tea and a scone. Please make yourself comfortable as our journey begins here.
Now if you'll all turn to page 394 and let the magic begin...
