Harry Potter Bunting

This past weekend I made harry potter bunting for my themed 17th birthday picnic. Using actual pages from Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (book lovers do not worry; I bought a spare copy (making that my third) from a charity shop) and paper in the four different house colours, as well as garden twine and Sellotape to attach it altogether, I managed to make a unique and creative room decoration! I really love it!

Some of my favourite covers...

Like all book lovers (I'm sure), I am partial to a pretty book cover. Whether it be an unusual font type or a beautifully edited photograph, I always opt for the more attractive cover. During one of my rare  trips to waterstones (amazon is just too tempting these days), if faced with the difficult choice of whether to purchase England's disgusting copy of Delirium (Lauren Oliver) or the stunning hardback copy of tempest (Julie Cross), tempest will always win; despite it being a mediocre excuse for YA fiction, with nowhere near the high quality of throw-the-book-across-the-room suspense in the last chapter of Delirium. But hey, I guess I'm just shallow.

Harry Potter Picnic Party Planning

For my upcoming 17th birthday I am holding a small picnic gathering with a few close friends, following the theme of Harry Potter. This week, being off school, I have started making a few crafty bits an bobs ready for the get together and generally just getting in the festive potter spirit! I have decided I shall decorate the forest with a Hedwig piñata, different house colour bunting and brightly coloured blankets. As it is Harry potter themed, I am hoping a few will turn up in fancy dress! Here are my crafts so far...

A Very Potter Marathon

So my sister and I attempted a 24 hour marathon of the Potter series this weekend. We failed. Miserably. I was fast asleep within the first half hour of the Chamber of Secrets, and we didn't even finish it the next day! We skipped straight to the third movie (the best one, aha) but I ended up going out to the cinema two thirds of the way in.

This is our second attempt at a harry potter marathon.

So basically, the moral of the story is, never give up on your dreams. Haha.
